Portland is one very eccentric city. Among the many other bold and colorful events this town boasts, the Vampire Masquerade Ball has to be the most glamorous. Since 2002, Oregonians and visitors from all over the world have whirled and pranced into the wee hours of the night, dressed as goth princesses, majestic vampires and broods of aristocratic villains. Everyone gets to eat, drink and be scary and at midnight, a violin waltz commences.
All makeup by me, as well as Nova’s gorgeous crimped faux-hawk.
If you want to try a subtle vampy look for an evening out, use rich, pigmented shadows such as Urban Decay’s Crave, or M.A.C’s Carbon paired with a sponge placed under the eye at the lash line to catch fall out from the brush. Blend well and line with a kohl liner pushed in between the lashes with a small brush. I worked with matte cherry and plum shades on the lips. Dense, feathery lashes complete the look.

This woman is a total bombshell. She is strikingly tall and confident, smart and beautiful. She is a chiropractor, a practiced world traveler and a lovely person. She has gorgeous style, and being a lover of vintage coats and designer shoes myself, we had a lot to talk about.
If you ever get a chance to work with Aaron Lee, do it. He is willing to do anything to accomplish his vision and he truly is capable of creating amazing art. I got to work with him on this pin up inspired glamour shoot. He found some extraordinary models, and we had photographer Hayes Peterson taking video footage! Here is what this super team created!
And here is a shot of me, doing my thing.
This is the charming engagement photo shoot of Ally and Daniel, a Portland-dwelling couple with every quirky and endearing quality one could dream up. If you are familiar with my work, you would know that only the awesome Amy Rollo could have photographed this 1920′s style amazingness.
It was the easiest job in the world to make this girl look glamorous. She sat in my chair with a bare face and a beer in her hand and she still embodied the dazzle and allure of a freaking queen. She is eccentric and incredibly hard-working and her love Daniel is smart, handsome and drums for the Portland Timbers Army. These two have an electric chemistry that is completely obvious and it shines through in these gorgeous shots!

All weekend, Portland was washed with the most glorious summer sunshine. I’m talking, every window open in the house, Oregonians trading in the yard work for an afternoon beer kind of sunshine. Model Ashley Johnson planned a photo shoot just outside of town near Newberg, OR with talented portrait photographer Tim VanBergen. The river was warm, the company was great and we got some amazing shots.
This is the lovely, lovely Carly. She is the creator of a clever and addicting style blog called Chic Steals. Carly and I have been scheduling consistent photo shoots for a few months now. I met her through my dear friend Alexa (Little Warrior), and together we have explored various landmarks of Portland, guided by her brave and colorful sense of style and my humble little camera lens. I consider her to be my blogger muse, as she has years of experience in writing and displaying her content beautifully, and she is exactly the kind of cool chick I want reading my blog!

You may have stumbled upon my blog through Chic Steals… so thank you for making the click! Check back often, as I will be posting more and more of my makeup artistry and photography.
I consider myself the luckiest girl in the world to know these two beautiful women. I could not have asked for a more incredible family. If you don’t like my bragging, you should probably stop reading now.
My mom is a talented interior designer. She created her own design company all on her own, and the creativity she displays in her designs, her home, and her personal style is extraordinary. She has been a leading and award-winning designer for La-Z-Boy Furniture for years, and you may have seen her work published several times in Phoenix Home & Garden Magazine. When people tell me I look like my mom, I just about die of delight.
My sister has taught dance for over 10 years. Ask her to wrangle twelve energetic 3-year olds, help otherwise awkward teenagers feel cool and coordinated, run an entire dance studio’s annual six-performance recital – done. You would think she has enough to handle for now, yet she is also an insanely gifted baker and cake decorator. She just started her own business, Confectionary Cakes (website coming soon), and it won’t be long before you see her work at a birthday, wedding shower or corporate event. She is also the most hilarious person I know.
These two insanely gorgeous, kind, and accomplished ladies have begun yet another adventure- working as a team in the real estate business. If you or a friend are looking for a home in the Valley (Phoenix, Scottsdale, Glendale and beyond), Jill and Brittany Morse can not only find you your perfect oasis, but renovate and decorate it to your specific desires. And bake you a cake to celebrate.

Promise me that if you ever get the chance to visit the Oregon Coast, do not pass it up. Both rain and shine bring captivating views and cozy vibes that cannot be compared to anywhere else along the West Coast. Oregon’s 363-mile stretch is polka-dotted with 32 different cities, all alluring in their own charming way. I joined a wonderful crew for the shoot of a new swimwear line called Leo Revolt in gorgeous Florence, Oregon. Amy Rollo calls herself a she geek and a pixie warrior with a camera. I call her a nugget of fun, sunshine and goodness that waltzed into my life last month. She brought me along as makeup artist and hairstylist for this shoot and I am oh so grateful! Model Keely rocks this look and makes that big rock look like something soft and fluffy. Look out for Ms. LeAna Leo’s Leo Revolt swimwear, coming soon!
Now, go! Visit, play, adventure!
There is nothing wrong with munching world famous donuts (Voodoo Donuts, SW Portland) on the job! Especially when they are topped with sugary breakfast cereal and crispy bacon. The provider of the donuts and the man behind the camera is my friend Jordan Siemens. You may have seen his work in Runner’s World or National Geographic Magazines and I had the lucky opportunity to work with him, as well as models Chris and Katie on this sunshine, pastry treat and laughter filled day.
Ryan J Lane is the guy with the ideas. The look for this shoot was a little slept in, a little dirty, a little bad ass. Stacy is sweet, totally easy to talk to and enjoys woodworking in her spare time.
I’ve discovered that the more black eyeshadow I can get away with using, the more fun I have doing my job. Plain and simple. I love the stuff! She rocks the smoky eye. And the dirty cigarettes!
